Day 1: Fez – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Erfoud Fossils – Merzouga
Your drive will pick you up from your Hotel in Fez at 8AM and start your journey to Sahara desert of Merzouga, crossing the Middle Atlas mountain range that extends over 350 kilometers. On the way we will pass through the city of Ifrane, known as the small “Moroccan Switzerland” for its houses architectur, and Azrou, Berber largest cedar forest, where we will meet the wild Barbary apes. Continue via the beautiful landscapes and the berber villages to reach the city of Midelte, where we will stop to have lunch, and then, continue to Merzouga, crossing the valley and the Gorges of Ziz before reaching Erfoud where we will take a desert track until we reach Merzouga. We will spend the night in a hotel next to the big dunes of Erg chebbi.
