Mohammed V is Morocco's main international airport, so a great many itineraries begin here and end four hundred kilometres away in Marrakech. Rather than backtrack, our six-day imperial cities and Sahara tour draws one continuous line across the country: Casablanca, Rabat, Meknes, Fes, the Middle Atlas, Erg Chebbi, the gorges, Aït Ben Haddou, Marrakech.
We collect you in arrivals and drop you at your departure gate, or at a riad if you are staying on. No repeated roads, and no day lost getting back to where you started.
What is worth seeing before you leave
Casablanca itself takes a morning rather than a day, and one building justifies the stop entirely.
The Hassan II Mosque stands partly over the Atlantic, holds twenty-five thousand people inside and eighty thousand on its courtyard, and has a 210-metre minaret — the second tallest religious structure in the world. It is also one of the only mosques in Morocco that non-Muslims may enter, on guided visits at fixed times. We plan the first morning around that schedule where we can.
After that: the Art Deco quarter around Place Mohammed V, which is a genuinely strange and good collection of 1930s French colonial architecture, and the Corniche if you want lunch by the sea. Then Rabat, an hour up the coast, which most visitors skip and should not — the Oudayas kasbah above the river mouth is one of the loveliest corners in the country.
Shorter options from Casablanca
If six days is more than you have, the same route works cut down. Common variations we build:
- Four days — Casablanca, Rabat, Fes, and back, with Volubilis and Meknes. No desert.
- Five days — Casablanca to Marrakech via Fes and Merzouga, dropping the second Fes night and the Ouarzazate stop.
- Eight days — the six-day route with a second night in the dunes and a night in Chefchaouen, the blue town in the Rif.

Questions we are asked about tours from Casablanca
Is it worth spending a night in Casablanca?
Usually not more than one, and often none. If you land in the morning we would rather drive you to Rabat or Fes the same day and give you the time somewhere you will enjoy more. If you land late, one night by the airport makes sense and we will collect you the next morning.
Can we enter the Hassan II Mosque?
Yes — guided visits run at set times most days outside prayer, and non-Muslims are welcome, which is rare in Morocco. Tickets are not included in our prices. Dress modestly and expect to remove your shoes.
How far is Casablanca from Marrakech?
About 240 km, roughly three hours by road or two and a half by train. That is the direct route. Our tours take six days over it because the interesting country is in the other direction first.
